Daily Graphic Novel Recommendation 4

Toormina Video

by Pat Grant
Genre notes: memoir, alcoholism, parenting

Toormina Video is by Pat Grant, who did Blue—which I recommended early in the project. Toormina Video is his reflection on his childhood and how his father would set him aside to drink—and then, about Pat's own responsibilities as a grown up. In a way, he does the same thing with Blue, using memory to critique the present.

It's an affecting work and highly recommended.

Good Ok Bad features reviews of comics, graphic novels, manga, et cetera using a rare and auspicious three-star rating system. Point systems are notoriously fiddly, so here it's been pared down to three simple possibilities:

3 Stars = Good
2 Stars = Ok
1 Star = Bad
